BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Flagler’s Jessica Wright (offensive), as well as UAH’s Brooke Denny (defensive) and Kate Simoncic (freshman) were recognized with Gulf South Conference Women's Lacrosse Weekly Awards Presented by Athletic Solutions, following their performances between April 6-12.
GSC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jessica Wright, Sr., AT, Flagler
Wright recorded six or more points in a game for the fourth time this season as Flagler secured another conference win. The senior scored a game-high four goals and had two assists in a 23-4 rout at Montevallo. She also picked up one ground ball and one caused turnover against the Falcons. This is Wright’s second straight and fifth overall GSC Offensive Player of the Week award of the 2026 season.

GSC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Brooke Denny, Fr., D, UAH
Denny had a solid outing in goal to lead the Chargers to a 1-0 week. The rookie made six saves on 17 shots faced in in 14-6 win at Lander. She also found two ground balls and caused one turnover in the game. This is Denny’s first GSC Defensive Player of the Week award of her career.

GSC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Kate Simoncic, Fr., M, UAH
Simoncic tallied four points over the weekend to help UAH remain unbeaten in GSC play. The rookie tied for the team-high goals with three, while registering an assist in the Chargers victory over Lee. She additionally contributed one ground ball, one caused turnover and two draw controls. This is Simoncic’s first GSC Freshman of the Week award of her career.
