BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Gulf South Conference announced its seventh set of Women's Lacrosse Weekly Awards Presented by Athletic Solutions and recognized Flagler’s Jessica Wright (offensive), Lander’s Kaia Morey (defensive) and UAH’s Olivia Rewers (freshman), following their performances between March 9-15.

GSC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jessica Wright, M, Sr., Flagler
Wright registered 13 points (7G–6A) in two games as top-ranked Flagler rolled past Anderson and Newberry last week. The senior began the week with a six-goal, three-assist performance in a 21-8 win over No. 24 Anderson. She then chipped in with a goal and three helpers in a 16-3 rout at Newberry. Wright finished with two-game slate with an shooting an efficient 8-of-8 with shots on target.

GSC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kaia Morey, Sr., D, Lander
Morey put together a solid week tallying three caused turnovers, eight draw controls and four ground balls as the Bearcats went 1-1. In a mid-week tilt that saw Lander down Indiana (Pa.), 14-11, Morey contributed with four ground balls, two caused turnovers and six draws controls. She then added a caused turnover and two draw controls to finish the week in a loss to No. 7 Slippery Rock.

GSC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Olivia Rewers, A/M, UAH
Rewers recorded an eight-point (5G–3A) week with 8-of-9 shots finding the cage, while also finishing with five ground balls, two caused turnovers and eight draw controls. The rookie accounted for five of eight UAH goals–scoring four times and assisting another–in a lopsided loss to No. 8 Lynn. Rewers capped the week with a goal and two assists in a 14-6 road win over Palm Beach Atlantic.
