The Gulf South Conference announced its fifth set of women's soccer Player of the Week awardees of the 2025 season, for performances based on matches from September 29-October 5.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Selis Demirci, Sr., F, West Alabama

• Had a seven-point week to help lead West Alabama to a pair of wins in GSC play.
• Scored two goals and registered an assist during a 3-1 win over Valdosta State.
• Scored the game winning goal against AUM in a 1-0 win on the road.
• Put seven shots on goal in a total of 162 minutes across the two games.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Aynzlie Nelson, Fr., D, West Alabama

• Scored her first career goal in West Alabama's 3-1 win over the Valdosta State.
• Helped the Tigers backline hold Valdosta State to only one goal, and secured the team’s sixth shutout of the season against AUM.
• Played 172 minutes as West Alabama went 2-0 on the week and earned six points in GSC play.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Jolie Cazale, Sr., GK, Montevallo

• Posted a 2-0 record for the week with a total of 8 saves on 15 shots.
• Faced three shots in a 3-0 win over Christian Brothers. 
• Made six saves and faced 12 shots in a 7-2 win over Union.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Yumari Hernandez, GK, West Alabama

• Helped the Tigers earn six points in GSC play with wins over Valdosta State and AUM.
• Faced 13 shots and made three saves on the weekend while only allowing one goal.
• Played 180 minutes, and registered her sixth shutout of the season.
• Earned her third GSC Freshman of the Week award this season.
