MONTEVALLO, Ala. — Lee remains in first on the men’s and women’s side as the 2026 GSC Outdoor Track & Field Championships continued Thursday, April 30 at the Montevallo Track & Field Stadium in Montevallo, Ala. Due to inclement weather in the forecast, tomorrow’s schedule moved up one hour.

The Flames still stand at the top with 113 points, while UAH moved into second following narrowly behind at 111.5 points. Montevallo also climbed the standings into third place with 85.5 points.
The Lady Flames are in a commanding lead at 144.5 points after winning the discus and 5000m. UAH sits in second with 94.5, while Mississippi College is still in third at 84 points.
UAH rookie Hekla Magnusdottir won the women’s heptathlon with 4,674 points, good for sixth-best in meet history. She finished first in three events, including a GSC Championship record heptathlon shot put with a distance of 11.96m.
Mississippi College’s Jake McMillan set a meet record in the men’s decathlon, logging 6,974 points. He was first place in six of ten events, while recording a GSC Championship record in the decathlon 110m hurdles (14.62).
In the women’s triple jump, Montevallo’s Natania Nasieku finished first. The freshman jumped 11.87m, while Lady Flame duo Jydia Faucette (11.80m) and Aubrey Anderson (11.72m) placed second and third, respectively.
Charger tandem Julius Williams III (15.19m) and Malik Turner (14.40m) took the top two spots in the men’s triple jump. Montevallo’s Jordon Harmon finished in third with a mark of 14.26m.
In the men’s high jump, UAH junior Malik Turner won for the second straight year (2.07m). Teammate Griffin Cooper was second at 2.01m, while Lee’s Lenny Fabulas placed third at 1.98m.
UAH’s Aniya Johnson took first in the women’s high jump. The junior cleared 1.66m, while Mississippi College’s Mallory Dial (1.63m) and Christian Brothers’ Gioia Scopel (1.60m) rounded out the top three.
Lee sophomore Gracie Waite won the women’s discus with a throw of 42.12m. Lady Choctaw Rebekah Zweerink (41.98m) took second and Montevallo’s Katie Wilkerson was third (41.71m).
Falcon Christopher Johnson won the men’s discus, throwing 55.37m. Lee’s Rodney Ngezimani came in second with a mark of 49.87m, while UAH’s Jordyn Beverly placed third at 48.64m.
Lee’s Aria Hawkins captured the women’s 5000m title with a time of 17:10.84, while teammate Maria Mitchell followed at 17:11.20. Mississippi College’s Lauren Wallace took home third, running a 17:11.38.
In the men’s 5000m, Lee’s Pierre Chauveau won, registering a time of 14:33.13. UAH’s Ahmed Ibrahim finished just behind in second (14:34.91), while Mississippi College’s Christian Balcer was third (14:46.09).
The final day of the 2026 GSC Outdoor Track and Field Championships was pushed up to an 11:30 a.m. CT start for Friday, May 1.
