BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Gulf South Conference announced its men’s outdoor track & field individual award winners, following the 2026 season. Awards were determined by the conference's head coaches via an online vote.
Mississippi College claimed three of four yearly awards. Gabe Hodson was named Track Athlete of the Year, Jake McMillan earned Field Athlete of the Year and Tristan Jusino-Lansing was honored as Freshman of the Year. Meanwhile, Lee’s Caleb Morgan was voted Coach of the Year.
- Hodson is the third-straight Choctaw to be named Track Athlete of the Year. He won the 800m at the GSC Championships with a meet record time (1:49.37), as well as a contributor in the 4x400m relay.
- McMillan is the first Choctaw to win Field Athlete of the Year since 2023 and second all-time. He took home first at the GSC Championships in the decathlon with a school and meet record 6,974 points and was also a runner-up in the 100m hurdles.
- Jusino-Lansing is Mississippi College’s third all-time freshman honoree. He won the Most Outstanding Freshman Performer at the GSC Championships after winning the 110m hurdles and 4x400m relay, as well as finishing second in the 4x100m relay and third in the 400m hurdles.
- Morgan secured coaching honors for the fifth time after guiding the Flames to their fifth GSC title.
The GSC also announced its All-GSC performers for the 2026 season. Honorees were determined based on their finish during the GSC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The men's list is available
