The 2026 NCAA Division II Track & Field Championships came to a close on Saturday, May 23, capping off three days of action from Francis G. Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kan.

Six Gulf South Conference programs scored points in the team competition. The Lee women had the best showing as it finished 13th with 20 points. UAH finished tied for 34th (eight points), followed by West Alabama who tied-47th (four points) and Mississippi College who tied for 56th (two points).
In the men's competition, Lee placed 20th-overall with 12 points, while UAH scored three points and claimed a share of 45th. Mississippi College, Montevallo and West Alabama each had competitors but did not score points.
Notable Performances:
• 11 GSC athletes finished among the top-8 in the final of their respective events.
• Lee's Stephen Clark won the men's 3000m Steeplechase.
• Lee's Aria Hawkins won the women's 1500m, and finished fourth in the 5000m.
• UAH's Amiah Murry was second in the women's 400m.
• UAH's Julius Williams III placed eighth in the men's triple jump.
