MONTEVALLO, Ala. — On the final day of the 2026 Gulf South Conference Championships, Lee University claimed the men's and women's titles for the fourth time in the same year.

The Lee men collected 214 points for their fifth title in program history. They were led by the GSC Most Outstanding Track Performer, Pierre Chauveau. Chauveau recorded 23 points as he took first place in the 1500m and 5000m.
For the ninth consecutive year, the Lady Flames won the women's title after garnering 257.5 points. Lee was highlighted by Aria Hawkins, GSC Most Outstanding Overall and Track Performer, as she won all three events she competed in totaling 30 points. The team also had help from Gracie Waite as she was earned GSC Most Outstanding Field Performer with victories in the shot put and discus for 23 points.
Montevallo's Jeremiah Fails was named the GSC Men's Most Outstanding Overall Performer after collecting 29.75 points. He medaled in three of four events with wins in the 100m (10.51) and as a contributor in the 4x100m (40.65), while placing second in the 200m (21.13).
UAH's Malik Turner was named back-to-back GSC Men's Most Outstanding Field Performer as he finished with 28 points. The Charger won both the long jump (7.28m) and high jump (2.07m), while taking second in the triple jump with a distance of 14.40m.
Mississippi College's Tristan Jusino-Lansing was named GSC Men's Most Outstanding Freshman Performer after he amassed 20.5 points. He was on the podium in all four of his events including first place in the 110m hurdles (14.39) as well as a member of the 4x400m (3:11.51).
UAH's Hekla Magnusdottir was named GSC Women's Most Outstanding Freshman Performer with 21 points. The rookie won the heptathlon (4,674 points) where she threw a GSC record heptathlon shot put with a mark of 11.96m.
Several GSC Championship records were broken including Mississippi College trio Jake McMillan in the men's decathlon (6,974 points), Gabe Hodson in the men's 800m (1:49.37) and Matias Vasquez in the men's 400m hurdles (51.92). A UAH duo broke records with Amiah Murry in the women's 400m (53.70) and Cooper Garrett in the women's javelin (45.39m), while the program ran a record 3:46.54 in the women's 4x400m. Lee's Liz Lannom also recorded a 13.77 in the women's 100m hurdles.
