LAKELAND, Fla. – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) has announced Montevallo's Zack Wyatt as its NCBWA South Region Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 5, 2026.
Wyatt went the distance and was credited with a 1-0 win over Delta State last weekend, helping the Falcons secure a series win. The junior right-hander improved to 5-3 on the season, after working 9.0 innings, with seven strikeouts and scattering four hits. Facing 33 batters, Wyatt held Delta State hitters to a .138 average, complementing his 0.00 ERA. He is the first Falcon pitcher to record a nine-inning complete game performance since 2021.
Previously named Gulf South Conference Pitcher of the Week, Wyatt is the region's first repeat winner this season, after previously be recognized during week 3 of the season. This is also the fifth consecutive week that at least one Gulf South student-athlete earned NCBWA South Region weekly honors.
