BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Lee’s Luke Collier, Montevallo’s Zach Wyatt and Mississippi College’s Will Langston secured Gulf South Conference Baseball Weekly Awards presented by Athletic Solutions, following performances during the week of March 30-April 5.
GSC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Luke Collier, SS, R-Jr., Lee
The Flames shortstop hit .563 (9-for-16), slugged 1.063 and posted a .611 on-base percentage as he helped Lee to a 4-0 week, including a series sweep at West Florida. Collier, who had three multi-hit games during the four-game slate, filled out the stat sheet with six RBI, two runs scored, three doubles, a triple and one home run. In the series against nationally-ranked West Florida, the redshirt-junior was 6-for-11 (.545) with four RBI and a walk.

GSC PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Zach Wyatt, Jr., Montevallo
Wyatt went the distance and was credited with a 1-0 win over Delta State last weekend, helping the Falcons secure a series win. The junior right-hander improved to 5-3 on the season, after working 9.0 innings, with seven strikeouts and scattering four hits. Facing 33 batters, Wyatt held Delta State hitters to a .138 average, complimenting a 0.00 ERA. He is the first Falcon pitcher to record a nine-inning complete game effort since 2021.

Will Langston, C, Mississippi College
The Choctaw freshman catcher hit .364 (4-for-11) and logged a .611 on-base percentage for the week, helping Mississippi College go 3-1, highlighted by a series win over Christian Brothers. Langston had four hits, including two doubles, while also reaching base by drawing four walks and three hits by a pitches. Defensively, he accounted for 19 putouts with no errors, while helping the Choctaw pitching staff to 30 combined strikeouts.
