The Gulf South Conference announced its men's and women's golf weekly awards presented by Athletic Solutions of the 2025-26 season, for performances during Jan. 30-Feb. 9.
GSC MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Per Ekelund, Jr., West Florida
Ekelund notched a third-place finish to open the spring portion of the season at the Matlock Classic held at the Lone Palm Golf Club in Lakeland, Fla. The junior carded scores of 67, 67, and 75 for a three-round total 209 seven-under-par. His performance in the second frame resulted in the low-round score. Ekelund birdied 13 times, leading the Argonauts to their second tournament win of the season.

GSC MEN'S FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Harper Ackermann, West Florida
Competing as an individual, Ackermann finished in a three-way tie for ninth at the Matlock Classic. The freshman shot 215 over three rounds as he tallied round scores of 71, 72, 72. Ackermann was among the tournament's top five leaders in birdies (14) in a field of 80 competitors.

GSC WOMEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Millie Thompson, Sr., West Florida
Placing third at the World Golf Invitational in St. Augustine, Fla., Thompson registered a three-round score of 217 one-over-par. She finished one shot behind the tournament's co-winners as she had back-to-back rounds of 74 in the first two frames, before tying the tournament-low round tally with a 69 in the third. Her performance in the final round moved Thompson 10 spots up the leaderboard. She finished with 11 birdies, second most among the 90-golfer field.

GSC WOMEN'S FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Justine Emond, Lee
Emond competed at the World Golf Invitational, claiming a share of 37th. In her first tournament of the season spring, the freshman shot 231 15-over-par, carded round scores of 84-70-77 and had six birdies. She helped the Lady Flames to a 12th-place finish in a field that featured 12 top-25 ranked teams according to Clippd.
