The Gulf South Conference announced its fourth men’s and women’s golf weekly awards recipients of the 2025-26 season, with performances from September 25-30.
GSC WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Brooklyn Verdugo, Sr., Union
Verdugo registered a third-place finish and was named to the all-tournament team after competing at the Lady Bulldog Desert Classic at Avondale as she played the Avondale Golf Course in Palm Desert, Calif. The senior carded scores of 73, 70, and 76 to shoot 219 three-over-par. She parred 38 of the tournament’s 54 holes and sank seven birdies, including four in her second-round outing. Verdugo led the field on all par 3s shooting an average of 2.92. Union claimed third in the team competition.

GSC WOMEN’S GOLF FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Maddie Gray, Fr., Union
In her second career event, Gray finished tied for 23rd, as she competed in the Lady Bulldog Desert Classic at Avondale held in Palm Desert, Calif. The rookie shot 239 (+23) and finished with five birdies, as she recorded scores of 83, 80 and 76.

GSC MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Andrew Westmoreland, Jr., Union
Westmoreland won the Battle for the Belt held at the Hot Springs Country Club in Hot Springs, Ark. The junior notched his first career victory, carding scores of 69-68-67 as he shot a 204 12-under par, in the three-round two-day event tournament. Westmoreland finished with 17 birdies as he led Union to a second-place.
