The Gulf South Conference announced the league’s men’s soccer Player of the Week awardees for performances based on matches from September 4-7.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Nicolas Napoli, Fr., F, Lee
Napoli scored three times to led Lee to a 2-0 week to start the season. The rookie tallied his first collegiate goal in the 47th-minute as he debuted against Emmanuel (Ga.) on Thursday. He then struck twice against No. 16 Findlay on Sunday, scoring in the 48th and 90th-minute of the game. Napoli finished with four of five shots on goal while playing 138 minutes.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Harvey Hewson, Sr., D, UAH
Hewson played all 180 minutes as UAH went 1-0-1 to start the season. The senior helped organize the backline to a clean sheet in the season opener as the Chargers defeated Illinois Springfield, 2-0. He was part of defense that surrender just one goal and eight shots on goal across two games. Hewson also had one shot in each game with both marked as shots on goal.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Patrick Schott, Sr., GK, Union
Schott made 14 saves in two games as Union logged a pair of draws against Ouachita Baptist and Harding to open the season. The senior faced 24 shots, stopping seven, in a 2-2 result with Ouachita Baptist in the season opener. He then followed up by turning away seven of 14 shots in a 1-1 draw with Harding.
