KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Seven soccer programs from the Gulf South Conference have been recognized for their academic excellence, as the United Soccer Coaches announced the recipients of the 2024-25 College Team Academic Awards.
Six member institutions were represented among the honorees, with West Florida standing out as the only GSC school to have both its men’s and women’s programs recognized. On the men’s side, academic honors also went to Auburn Montgomery, Christian Brothers, and Montevallo. For the women’s programs, Mississippi College and Valdosta State joined West Florida in earning the distinction.
The UWF women led all GSC programs with a 3.69 grade point average for the academic year, complementing its success on the field as both the regular-season and tournament champions. On the men’s side, AUM posted the highest GPA among GSC programs with a 3.59, following its GSC Championship title. Men's regular-season champion West Florida had 3.55 GPA, third-highest in the conference.
To qualify for the United Soccer Coaches College Team Academic Award, programs must have achieved a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the 2024-25 academic year.
