AUSTIN, Texas — Three Gulf South Conference men’s soccer student-athletes garnered Academic All-America honors as announced by College Sports Communicators (CSC) for the 2024 season.
West Florida defender Keegan Lynch was named a First Team Academic All-American, with an undergraduate grade point average of 3.80, while majoring in Business Administration.
He was joined by teammate and forward Keegan Ancelin and Alabama Huntsville forward Oli Orzechowski. Ancelin received second team accolades with 3.69 GPA, while studying Exercise Science. Orzechowski, a sophomore forward for the Chargers, was a third team nod with a 4.00 GPA while majoring in Aerospace Engineering.

On the pitch, the Ancelin finished with 13 goals and 26 points, second among GSC leaders in both categories, while Orzechowski had 10 goals and two assists for 22 points, fourth among GSC leaders. Lynch anchored the Argo backline in all 17 matches and logged 1,489 minutes and was also named GSC Co-Defensive Player of the Year.
Student-athletes with a cumulative 3.5 GPA or higher and satisfy other criteria are eligible to be nominated by members of the College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA). Nominees recognized with Academic All-District® honors are then added to the national ballot which is voted on all College Sports Communicators members affiliated with a Division II school or conference.
Established in 1952 and selected by College Sports Communicators, Academic All-America is the longest running and premier award for athletic and academic success across championship college sports at all divisions of college athletics.
