BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Gulf South Conference announced West Florida's Amelia Bell (player) and UAH's Ava McSwain (freshman) as its fourth women's basketball weekly award winners of the 2025-26 season, following their performances from Nov. 24-30.
GSC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Amelia Bell, Gr., F, West Florida
Bell averaged 19.7 points and 8.3 rebounds across three games on the week. The graduate student registered 18 points and seven rebounds in a 98-62 win over UPR Rio Pedras, as well as 20 points and seven rebounds in a 96-44 win over UPR Mayaquez. She also had a double-double with 21 points, knocking down 9-of-11 (.818) from the field, and 11 rebounds in an 85-78 loss at Columbus State.

GSC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Ava McSwain, Fr., G, UAH
McSwain averaged 12 points, 5.5 rebounds and three assists to help the Chargers go 2-0 on the week. The rookie recorded 11 points and seven rebounds in an 89-63 win over Cumberland. McSwain also shot .67 from the field for 13 points, while recording four rebounds and four blocks in a 95-53 win over Johnson.
