The 2025 Gulf South Conference Volleyball Championship began Tuesday evening with first round action on campus sites, which saw No. 5-seed Montevallo and No. 7-seed Christian Brothers advanced to Friday’s second round. Both teams won in three-set sweeps as the Falcons downed eighth-seeded Mississippi College, while the Lady Bucs bested sixth-seeded Valdosta State.

The GSC Volleyball Championship will resume Friday, Nov. 21 with second round matches from the UWF Field House in Pensacola, Fla. Top-seeded West Florida will serve as host for the final three rounds. FloCollege will stream all the action. #5 Montevallo 3, #8 Mississippi College 0 (25-21, 25-21, 25-14) • Box Score | Highlights 
The Falcons used a balanced attack as Mae Mae Beatty, Maggie McColley and Katie Wilkerson had seven kills apiece. Blakeley Robbins and Delaney Sisson combined for 25 assists. Danielle Greene finished with six kills and four blocks. The Lady Choctaws were offensively by Meg Paparella who had a match-high 11 kills, while Samarin Kipple collected 18 digs.  

Mississippi College was charged with 20 attack errors and hit .126 for the match, while Montevallo swung at .196-clip as it won. With the win, Montevallo returns to the second round for the first time since 2023. 

#7 Christian Brothers 3, #6 Valdosta State 0 (25-22, 28-26, 25-17) • Box Score | Highlights 
The Lady Bucs notched their first tournament win since 2016 with a three-set sweep. Addision Waggoner led the attack with 24 kills behind a .396 hitting percentage. Ella Schumacher finished with 15 kills. At the center was Carleiny Morillo who had 48 assists. Sophia Nowacki anchored the defense with 23 digs. Valdsota State's Madison Kilmer had a team-high nine kills, while Avery Mullins dished out 22 assists.  

Christian Brothers hit .297 for the match, while holding Valdosta State to .172 as a team.
