2025 Volleyball Season Awards, All-GSC Teams Announced

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —  Before the start of the Gulf South Conference Volleyball Championship, the conference announced its All-GSC selections and major award winners for the 2025 regular season. All awards were determined via vote by the conference’s 11 head coaches.

West Florida claimed four of the five individual accolades, headlined by Gabi Moulton who received both GSC Player and Setter of the Year honors for second consecutive season. Teammate Madalyn Mire was recognized as Libero of the Year, while Melissa Wolter was named Coach of the Year. In addition, UAH’s Sydney Durban was voted Freshman of the Year.

The All-GSC selections represented eight programs across the two squads, with a total of 18 student-athletes recognized. West Florida had a conference-high four honorees, while UAH, Trevecca Nazarene, and Lee followed with three apiece. Montevallo had two selections, with one each for Christian Brothers, Mississippi College and Valdosta State.

Moulton led the conference with 1,123 assists, while averaging 10.5 assists per match. The junior also logged a .312 hitting percentage, finishing fifth among GSC leaders, while notching 146 kills on 375 attempts. Moulton is the first player in 10 years to earn GSC Player of the Year honors in consecutive seasons and is the second Argonaut to claim back-to-back Setter of the Year accolades since Taylor Vaneekeren won in 2021 and 2022.

Mire topped the league in digs per set (5.37) and was second overall in total digs (564). Appearing 105 sets, the junior had 25 or more digs in a match seven times, including a season-high 32. Mire is the first Argonaut to win the award since 2021 (Ashton Marshall).

Durban had a strong debut season finishing fourth among GSC leaders with 41 service aces. She was also one of the conference’s top liberos racking up 450 digs, good for eighth-overall, while her 4.37 digs per set was sixth-best on the GSC charts. As a result, Durban is the first Charger to garner top freshman honors in over two decades, last accomplished by Emily Miller in 2002.

Wolter captured her fifth consecutive Coach of the Year award as she led West Florida to its eighth consecutive conference regular season title, going 18-2 league play, while posting a 25-5 record overall. Under her direction, the Argonauts led the GSC in hitting percentage (.237), kills (1,537), kills per set (14.36), total digs (1,851), and opponent hitting percentage (.143).
