Two GSC Teams Punch Tickets to NCAA Women's Soccer Postseason

INDIANAPOLIS — The NCAA announced Monday evening that two Gulf South Conference schools, West Florida and Lee, will represent the league in the 2023 NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championship.
 
As a conference, this is the sixth straight year the GSC has had two or more teams in the regional tournament and the ninth time since 2002.
 
Lee, who received the conference’s automatic bid after lifting the tournament trophy, will make its eighth consecutive NCAA postseason appearance. The Lady Flames enter as the No. 2-seed and will host the winner of the three-six matchup between Florida Tech and Rollins in the second round on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 1:00 p.m. CT.
 
Earning an at-large bid was GSC regular season champion West Florida, who will make its eighth consecutive and 18th all-time NCAA appearance. The Argonauts will enter the tournament as the No. 4-seed in the region and will host No. 5-seed Nova Southeastern from the Sunshine State Conference on Friday, Nov. 17.

The opening round of the tournament is set to start on Thursday, November 16 across multiple locations, while the championship game will be on Saturday, December 9 at 3:00 p.m. in Matthews, N.C.
