Two GSC Teams, Three Individuals Tabbed for 2026 NCAA DII Men's Golf South/Southeast Regional

INDIANAPOLIS – Two teams and three individuals from the Gulf South Conference were selected to participate in the 2026 NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championships. The tournament begins with regional play May 7-9.

Lee and West Florida will be two of the 20 teams competing in the South/Southeast Regional. Joining them and competing as individuals will be Valdosta State’s Alex Nilehn and William Carestam along with Delta State’s Ty Werynski. The entire NCAA field is comprised of 80 teams and 32 student-athletes competing as individuals.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

The 2026 NCAA DII Men’s Golf South/Southeast Regional will be held at the Valdosta Country Club in Valdosta, Ga., and hosted by Valdosta State.

At a minimum, the top three teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional will advance to the finals, May 18–22 at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada. The remaining eight team berths will be allocated based on the regions represented in the prior year’s head-to-head medal play portion of the championships, with the maximum number of teams from a given region capped at seven. The finals will be hosted by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.
