MC's Iglesias, West Florida Hold Positions After Day Two of GSC Men's Golf Championship

DICKSON, Tenn. — Second round action of the 2026 Gulf South Conference Men’s Golf Championships concluded on Tuesday from GreyStone Golf Club in Dickson, Tenn. Heading back to the clubhouse, West Florida continues to lead the team standings, while Mississippi College’s Joao Iglesias stands alone atop the individual leaderboard.

CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL

West Florida maintained its hold on first-place and finished the second day with a two-shot advantage over Lee after 36 holes. The Argonauts shot a combined 281, three strokes better than their first round performance and are now 11-under after two rounds. The Flames meanwhile had the lowest team score of the round, shooting 280, seven strokes better than day one. As a result, Lee climbed one spot up the team standings and now sit in second place with a two-round total of 567. Mississippi College slipped to third overall, Union checked in at fourth, while Trevecca Nazarene and Valdosta State share fifth. 

Iglesias shot three-under as he carded a 69 in round two, giving him a 36-hole score of 135 nine-under par. The sophomore ended his run of bogey-free golf as went one-over in three of the first seven holes. Sitting one-over after 11 holes, Iglesias's momentum turned as he penciled an eagle on 12 to move to one-under for the round before picking up birdies on 14 and 17 to finish three-under-par. 

After two round, Lee’s Drew Zielinski is in second thanks to a second round score of 67 five-under-par. Mississippi College’s Todd Mckie held his spot in third. Union’s Lane Carr moved into fourth, while six players are tied for fifth. 

Union’s Andrew Westmoreland was the biggest mover of the day as he climbed 20 spots on the leaderboard. The junior cut 11 strokes from his first round effort to card a 66 in the second round. As a result, Westmoreland is now tied for fifth in tournament history with the lowest second round score. 

The 2026 GSC Men’s Golf Championship wraps up with third round action on Wednesday with the first group teeing off at 7:30 am CT.
