BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Gulf South Conference has announced its Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Awards presented by Athletic Solutions for performances during March 23-29.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Stephen Clark, Sr., Lee
- Ran 8:52.54 for an NCAA provisional mark in the 3000m steeplechase at the Raleigh Relays.
- Finished 25th in a field of 74 top DI and DII athletes.
- Currently ranks first in the GSC and fourth in DII for the event.

FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Matthew Coleman, Jr., Mississippi College
- Threw a collegiate personal-best in the javelin at the Mississippi State Alumni Bulldog Relays.
- Placed third with a distance of 64.04m, the best finish by a non-D1 competitor.
- Now ranks first among GSC leaders in javelin.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Schyler Chambers, Fr., Mississippi College
- Medaled at third in the triple jump in his outdoor collegiate debut at the Mississippi State Alumni Bulldog Relays.
- Registered the best finish of any non-D1 participant with a distance of 15.05m.
- He now ranks first in the GSC and eighth in DII.
