BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Gulf South Conference has announced its Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Awards presented by Athletic Solutions for performances during March 16-22.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Stephen Clark, Sr., Lee
- Won the 3000m steeplechase at the Lee Invitational.
- Posted an NCAA provisional mark with a time of 8:57.45
- Now ranks first in the event among all of GSC and DII leaders.

FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Christopher Johnson, Gr., Montevallo
- Notched a pair of personal-best finishes at the Emory Spring Break Classic.
- Won the discus throw with a school record and provisional mark distance of 56.28m, placing him first in the GSC and DII.
- Also placed fifth in hammer throw (49.86m).

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Gage Whited, Fr., Lee
- Competed in the 100m and 200m at the Lee Invitational.
- Took home first in the 100m with a time of 10.40 for a personal-best and met the NCAA provisional mark.
- Also logged a personal best in the 200m with a time of 21.45 for fourth place.
- Currently ranks second in the GSC and eighth in DII for the 100m, and third in the GSC for the 200m.
