The Gulf South Conference announced its men’s golf weekly awards presented by Athletic Solutions of the 2025-26 season, for performances during February 25-March 3. Women’s golf was not included since the minimum number of teams did not compete, the next set of awards will be announced Thursday, March 12.
GSC MEN'S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Per Ekelund, Jr., West Florida
Ekelund tied for sixth out of 108 competitors at the Las Vegas Desert Classic, held at the Boulder Creek Golf Course in Boulder Creek, Nevada. The junior shot 212 four-under-par with round scores of 76, 71 and 65. Ekelund tied the tournament-low round after carding six birdies and an eagle during his final round. As a result, he climb 26 spots up the leaderboard to lead the Argonauts to their this third event win of the season.

GSC MEN’S FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Ethan Weinberg, West Florida
Weinberg competed as an individual at the Las Vegas Desert Classic in Boulder Creek, Nev., tying for 15th-place. Over three rounds, the freshman carded scores of 73, 69 and 74 for a 54-hole total of 216. He finsihed with a total of 13 birdies, seven from the second round alone, and an eagle, which he carded in the third round.
