BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Gulf South Conference Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards presented by Athletic Solutions went to Delta State's Kennedee Shelton (player) and Montevallo's Emily Mouser (freshman), following their performances for the week of Feb. 9-15, 2026.
GSC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kennedee Shelton, G/F, Sr., Delta State
Shelton averaged 17.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game, helping the Lady Statesmen to three wins in GSC action and move into second in the league standings. The senior was an efficient 18-of-27 (.667) shooting including 2-of-5 from three-point range, while converting 13-of-14 (.929) from the charity stripe. She began the week with a career-high 18 points in a narrow 80-77 win at Union. She then increased her DSU career-high with a 22-point effort on Saturday against West Florida. Shelton is Delta State’s first weekly honoree of the season.

GSC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Emily Mouser, G, Montevallo
For the fourth time this season, Mouser claimed GSC Freshman of the Week honors tallying a 24-point performance in Montevallo’s 86-78 win at AUM last week. The rookie was 9-for-18 shooting from the field with 2-of-3 from behind the arc, while converting all four attempts from the free throw stripe. She also collected five rebounds and was credited with one assist and one steal.
