BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Gulf South Conference announced Lee’s Anna Muhonen (player) and West Florida’s Janai Jordan (freshman) as its women’s basketball awards of the 2025-26 season for their performances between Jan. 12-18.
GSC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Anna Muhonen, Gr., F, Lee
Muhonen helped the Lady Flames to a 2-0 week, while averaging 19.5 points while converting 16-of-29 (.552) from the field. The Cleveland, Tenn., native began the week with a 25-point, eight-rebound performance in a 79-66 win over Union. She then netted 14 points and pulled down seven boards in a decisive 63-45 victory against Christian Brothers. Her weekly ledger also included five assists, two steals and a block. This is Muhonen’s second GSC Player of the Week award, having previously been recognized on Dec. 22.

GSC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Janai Jordan, G, West Florida
Jordan averaged 19.5 points and shot 53.8 percent (14-for-26) from the floor last week as the Argonauts registered conference wins over AUM and Montevallo. She was also an efficient 8-for-14 (.571) from three-point range and collected nine total rebounds to go along with two assists, three steals and a block. The rookie guard opened the two-game slate with a 25-point effort versus AUM, making 10-of-18 shots, including 5-of-8 from long-range. She then followed up with 14 points against Montevallo. This is Jordan's second GSC Freshman of the Week award having previously been recognized on Nov. 18.
