ORLANDO, Fla. – Trevecca Nazarene forward Chris Douglas was named the Division II Conference Information Directors Association (D2CIDA) Men’s Soccer National Player of the Year for his performance during the week of October 12-18.
The junior led the Trojans to a 2-0 week as he scored five times and tallied an assist for a total of 11 points in conference wins over Spring Hill and on the road at No. 10 AUM. A native of St. Johns, Antigua, Douglas totaled 168 minutes across the two matches and registered nine shots with eight on goal.
Douglas opened the week by notching his second hat trick of the season at home against Spring Hill in a 4-0 win. Then in a top-20 clash with AUM, he assisted on the opening goal before finding the back of the net twice in a 3-0 win. As result, Trevecca claimed a share of first-place in the Gulf South Conference standings alongside AUM heading into the final week of the season.
Following his scoring performance, Douglas became Trevecca’s NCAA-era career goal leader and moved into second in program history in career points for its NCAA-era.
Douglas is the GSC’s first recipient this season from either men's soccer or women's soccer and the conference’s first men's recipient since Oct. 7, 2025 when Kendrick Hernandez of UWF was recognized. Past winners from 2026 season are available here.
National Players of the Week are selected by a volunteer committee of Division II Conference Information Directors from a pool of nominations submitted by conference offices.
