The seventh set of 2026 Gulf South Conference Men’s Soccer Weekly Awards presented by Athletic Solutions have been announced, based on performances from Oct. 5-11.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Oli Orzechowski, F, Sr., UAH
 

• Earned his second GSC Player of the Week honor this season with two goals, one assist and five points across 180 minutes. 
• Recorded his third multi-goal performance of the season with two goals in a 3-3 draw at Montevallo, finishing with four shots and two shots on goal. 
• Added an assist and two shots on goal in a 2-2 draw against Christian Brothers to lead the GSC with 44 shots and sit second in the conference with 25 shots on goal. 
• Ranked seventh in NCAA Division II for shots on goal per game and 13th in the nation for shots per game.

DEFENDER OF THE WEEK
Mathias Ibanez, D, Sr., West Alabama
 

• Helped lead the UWA defense to a 1-0-1 week in conference play.
• Scored a goal in the 87th minute against No. 4 AUM to help the Tigers to a 2-2 draw on Oct. 7. 
• Added an assist in a 4-0 shutout against Union on Oct. 11 to finish with three points during the week.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Jose Lozano Soto, GK, Fr., Spring Hill
 

• Recorded 10 saves across two matches during the week, helping Spring Hill College remain competitive against Mississippi Christian and Lee. 
• Made four saves against Mississippi Christian on Oct. 7, keeping the Badgers within striking distance before conceding a late goal in a 1-0 defeat. 
• Posted a six saves to earn a shutout on Oct. 11 in a scoreless draw at Lee. 
• Faced 17 shots, including 10 saves in 180 minutes of action.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Daniele Ciarlesi, F, Fr., West Alabama
 

• Recorded three points on one goal and an assist against Union in UWA’s 4-0 win.
• Played 62 minutes in West Alabama’s 2-2 tie against No. 4 AUM and recorded 87 minutes of action during the week.
• Earned his second GSC Freshman of the Week honor in three weeks.
