BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Gulf South Conference has announced its Men’s Indoor Track & Field weekly award for performances during the week of Jan. 12-18, 2026.
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Evan Wrights, Mississippi Coilege
- Competed at the Samford Open earning two medals.
- Won the 800m race with a personal-best time of 1:52.23.
- Helped the Choctaws take third in the 4x400 with a time of 3:19.15.
- Wrights’ performance in the 800m is the second fastest time in the GSC this season.

FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Cameron Stine, Gr., Lee
- Competed in the heptathlon at the Vanderbilt Invitational.
- Won the event with a NCAA provisional qualifying score of 4,764 points.
- Placed third or better in four events.
- Registered a collegiate personal-best mark in the pole vault clearing 4.30m (14’1.25”).

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Tristan Jusino-Lansing, Mississippi College
- Placed fourth in the 60m hurdles at the Samford Open.
- Ran 8.17 in finals, after posting the fourth-best qualifying time at 8.22.
- Ranks second among GSC leaders in the event.
- Also clocked a personal-best time in the 400m (51.35).
