The Gulf South Conference announced the league’s volleyball Player of the Week awardees for performances based on matches from September 4-7.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Caroline Moyer, Sr., OH, UAH
Moyer finished with 49.5 points (4.95/set), 47 kills (4.7/set) and a .388 hitting percentage as UAH went 2-1 at the Ray Thrasher Classic to open the 2025 season. The senior consistently logged double-digit kills with 14 against Wayne State (Neb.) and Jamestown, before knocking down 19 against Henderson State, while also posting hitting percentage totals of .345, .481, and .357 respectively. Moyer also had 13 digs and four blocks on the week.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Madalyn Mire, Jr., L, West Florida
Mire helped West Florida go 3-1 at the SpringHill Suites Invitational as the junior collected 73 digs, averaging 4.87 per set. Her week was highlighted by a 28-dig performance in a five-set clash with No. 15 Southwest Minnesota State. She opened the season with 18 digs against Wheeling, before tallying 11 versus Northern Michigan and 16 against Spring Hill in the finale. Mire also chipped in with six service aces and 16 assists.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Holland Williams, Fr., MB, Mississippi College
Williams racked up 30 points (3.00/set) in her debut weekend for the Lady Choctaws. The rookie contributed on both sides of the net, tallying 22 kills on 41 attempts and a .317 hit percentage, while defensively finishing with nine blocks including seven solo stops. She appeared in 10 sets across three matches for Mississippi College and is the only freshman among the GSC’s top-10 in hitting percentage, kills, points and points.
