NON-CONFERENCE SUCCESS
GSC teams are scheduled to play 29 non-conference games in 2025 and are a combined 10-2 this season. The Gulf South began the season with a 112-62 record in the regular season non-conference games, dating back to 2016. Last season marked the fifth time during that span with 15 or more wins.

GSC vs. SUPER REGION 2
The GSC is 7-1 against Super Region 2 teams this season as its 4-1 versus Conference Carolinas, 2-0 versus SIAC, and 1-0 SAC teams. The Gulf South began the season with a 111-36 record, dating back to 2015. Since 2004, GSC teams have won 17 of 20 region titles.

GSC WEEKLY AWARDS
West Alabama's Spencer Arceneaux (Offensive) and JT Hooten (Defensive) as well as West Florida's Tony Newsome (Special Teams) and Brogan Woeber (Freshman) earned GSC Player of the Week awards for Week 2 (Sept. 15).

GSC TRIO RANKED IN AFCA TOP 25
Three GSC teams were ranked in the AFCA D2 Rankings (Sept. 15) – No. 3 West Florida, No. 13 West Alabama, and No. 20 Valdosta State. UWF is among the top-five for the second week time, its highest ranking since the 2023 Week 2 poll (Sept. 11) when it was No. 4 fourth. UWA has been ranked in 14 of the last 15 polls, since Week 2 of the 2024 season (Sept. 16), while Valdosta State has been in the last 21 polls since Oct. 23, 2023 (Week 8).

Since 2000, the GSC has appeared in 318 of 320 AFCA Top 25 polls, including 223 times among the top-five and 70 weeks at No. 1. On 297 occasions, two or more GSC teams have been ranked in the same poll.

OTHER NATIONAL RANKINGS
D2Football.com had the two GSC teams ranked– West Florida (No. 4) and West Alabama (No. 18). The FloCollege D2 Football Rankings had four GSC teams in its top 25–West Florida (No. 3), West Alabama (No. 9), No. 13 Valdosta State and No. 23 Delta State.
