BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Gulf South Conference announced West Alabama’s Bellah Machen (player) and Montevallo’s Abigail Bryan (freshman) as its women’s basketball awards of the 2025-26 season. 

GSC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Bellah Machen, Sr., G, West Alabama
Machen had a solid week averaging 21 points and shot 48 percent (15-31) from the field while helping the Tigers to a pair of conference wins. The senior began the week scoring a career-high 27 points in a 62-56 win over Lee. She converted 9-of-15 from the floor, including 5-of-8 from three-point distance. Machen then tallied 15 points in a 64-60 win over Trevecca. She also had eight rebounds, three assists and four steals on the week.

GSC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Abigail Bryan, G, Union
Bryan had 11 points and three rebounds in Union’s lone game last week. The rookie converted 4-of-9 (.444) from the floor and 3-of-7 (.429) from behind the arc as the Lady Bulldogs rolled to a 107-45 win over Christian Brothers. Her performance also included three assists and a steal. This is Bryan’s third time named GSC Freshman of the Week as she was previously recognized on Nov. 11 and Nov. 25.
