BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — A Week 7 top-10 meeting between No. 3 West Florida and No. 8 West Florida lived up to the hype as both teams opened GSC play, while No. 18 Delta State registered a non-conference win over a Super Region 2 foe.

Delta State blew past Ferrum, 51-10, improving to 6-1 on the year. The Statesmen dominated early taking a 21-0 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. The Panthers avoided the shutout scoring 10 points the during four minutes of the first half. Delta Sate finished with 504 total offensive yards while Ferrum recorded 293. 

The Argonauts outlasted West Alabama to escape with a 23-16 win on the road. West Florida led 6-0 at the break. Trailing 15-7 after the third, the Tigers found the end zone to make it 15-13 before a field goal gave them a narrow 16-15 lead with 3:20 remaining. The following drive, UWF marched 89 yards for the game-winning score as Tyree Holloway had an 11-yard reception. West Florida tallied 458 yards of offense, while West Alabama finished with 316 total yards.
