BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Gulf South Conference announced its Football Players of the Week following Week 6 performances of the 2025 season. West Florida took home three awards as quarterback Marcus Stokes (offensive), linebacker Walker Robinson (defensive) and punter Michael Shine (special teams) were recognized along with Valdosta State running back Shawn Paschall (freshman).
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Marcus Stokes, R-So., QB, West Florida
- Led the Argonauts to a 40-10 win versus Chowan.
- Was responsible for six touchdowns, throwing for four and using his feet for two more.
- Totaled 312 offensive yards—threw for 292 yard and rushed 20 yards.
- Completed 21-of-34 passes, connecting with 11 different receivers.
- Third GSC Offensive Player of the Week of the season.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Walker Robinson, Sr., LB, West Florida
- Helped West Florida to a 40-10 win against Chowan.
- Finished with a team-high six tackles, all solo stops.
- Had two tackles for loss totaling 12 yards, and one sack for eight yards.
- Registered one pass breakup and an Interception, which was returned for 14 yards.
- Second GSC Defensive Player of the Week of the season.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Michael Shine, Sr., P, West Florida
- Had four punts totaling 158 yards, averaging 39.5 yards, in a 40-10 win over Chowan.
- Registered a long of 54 yards and pinned Chowan inside its own 20 once.
- Now has 22 punts on the season for 988 yards, averaging 44.9 per kick.
- This is his first GSC Special Teams Player of the Week award of his career.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Shawn Paschall, RB, Valdosta State
- Rushed for 52 yards on 10 carries in 38-14 road loss at Division I-FCS foe, The Citadel.
- Accounted for both Blazer touchdowns, finding the end zone during the first and fourth quarters.
- First career GSC weekly award.
