INDIANAPOLIS — Four Gulf South Conference teams and one individual were officially selected to participate in the 2024 NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships.
Lee will be represented by both its men’s and women’s teams after both programs won the NCAA Division II South Region Championship on Nov. 9.
Mississippi College will also be represented in both races. The men’s qualified as team after placing third in the regional championship. Taylor Benoit was one of 26 individuals selected to compete in the women’s race, after finishing sixth in regionals.
Alabama Huntsville will also take part of the men’s race following its second place finish at regionals.
This year’s race will be held Saturday, November 23 at Arcade Creek Cross Country in Sacramento, Calif., and hosted by the California Collegiate Athletic Association. The men’s 10K race will begin at 1 pm ET, followed by the women’s 6K race at 2:15 pm ET.
A livestream of the championships will be available on NCAA.com beginning at 1 pm ET.
Thirty-four teams were selected to participate in each championship. The top three, seven-person teams automatically qualified from each of the eight regions, for a total of 24 teams. Ten additional teams were selected at-large. A minimum of 24 additional individuals were selected to participate in each championship through an automatic qualifier and at-large selection process.
