BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The 2022 running of the Gulf South Conference Cross Country Championship will take place Saturday, Nov. 5, and will be hosted by the University of Montevallo at the Montevallo Cross Country Course in Montevallo, Ala. The meet will be streamed live on FloSports.

The men's race is scheduled at 8:30 am CT start, with the women set to follow at approximately 9:30 am CT. An awards ceremony is set to follow at about 11:15 am CT. Admission to the GSC Cross Country Championship is free to all. This will be the first time since 2019 Montevallo has hosted the conference championships.

Four teams come into the race listed among the national Top 25, per the most recent rankings announced by the USTFCCCA. In the men's rankings, Lee leads the way at No. 5, while Mississippi College follows at No. 11 and Alabama Huntsville at No. 25. In the women's rankings, Lee is the lone GSC representative at No. 11.

UAH has won the last three GSC men's titles, while Lee has won five-consecutive women's titles. UAH and Lee have combined for to win 10 of the last 11 men's championships. Lee's women have claimed five of the last six individual titles.
