LAKELAND, Fla. — Lee University women’s cross country placed second at the NCAA Division II South Regional Championship on Saturday morning at Holloway Park in Lakeland, Fla., while Mississippi College’s Lauren Wallace captured the program’s first-ever individual regional title.

Lee qualified for its ninth consecutive NCAA Division II National Championship after a second-place finish with 77 points. The Lady Flames earned their automatic bid as all five scoring runners placed in the top-30 (2-4-20-22-29).
Mississippi College is seeking an at-large bid after placing fourth with 95 points, while UAH finished in fifth with 127 points. Other GSC top-10 finishers include AUM (10th) and West Florida (seventh), while Christian Brothers, Trevecca Nazarene, Union, Valdosta State and West Alabama finished among 11th through 17th.
Wallace earned an automatic bid for nationals with a first-place finish to become Mississippi College’s first-ever individual NCAA regional title winner. She traversed the 6K course with a time of 21:18.27, making her the sixth straight Gulf South Conference runner to be crowned the South Region women's individual champion.
GSC runners also took home second, third and fourth as headlined by Lee’s Maria Mitchell (21:23.14), Union’s Addi Aguayo (21:31.28) and Lee’s Estella Clemons (21:31.47).
The 2025 NCAA Division II National Championship will be held at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course on Nov. 22 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The full list of participants will be announced Monday, Nov. 10 on ncaa.com.
