OVERVIEW
This past weekend both teams from West Georgia and Auburn Montgomery traveled to Charlotte to compete at the Royals Challenge. Auburn Montgomery’s women placed 20
th and the men placed 13
th. West Georgia’s men finished 12
th and the women finished 2
nd .
The men and women’s team from West Florida and Valdosta competed at the FSU Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla. Despite heavy competition both notched big-time performances. Valdosta’s men finished 16
th with West Florida’s men finishing in 19
th. On the women’s side, West Florida finished 11th and Valdosta finished 20
th.
Both teams from West Alabama traveled to compete at the Bobcat Invitational. The men came out on top with three top-10 finishes. The women competed as individuals.
MEETS ON TAP
- Valdosta State, Delta State, Montevallo, and Mississippi College are gearing up to compete at the UAB XC Invitational at the Montevallo Cross Country Course on Friday.
- Shorter will be traveling to Mount Berry, GA., to compete at Berry College.

Caitlyn Koske received Runner of the Week honors after placing 61
st at the FSU Invitational among heavy competition. West Florida’s
Chloe Rook earned Freshman of the Week for the third time after a solid performance at the FSU Invitational. For the men West Florida’s
Zach Fenton earned weekly honors for Runner of the Week after finishing 10
th overall last weekend. Alabama Huntsville’s
Nate Pohlsander received his second Freshman of the Week honors after helping the Chargers to sixth place in the team race.
NATIONAL RANKINGS
No. 10 Lee is the lone GSC women’s team to be named by the USTFCCCA in the national poll. For the men No. 5 Lee, No. 16 Mississippi College and No. 22 Alabama Huntsville.
GSC CHAMPIONSHIP
The 2022 Gulf South Conference Cross Country Championships will run the course on the campus of Montevallo on November 5. Fans unable to attend will be able to watch all the action exclusively on FloTrack.
