BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — In the ninth set of the 2026 Gulf South Conference Softball Weekly Awards presented by Athletic Solutions, AUM’s Olivia Watkins (player) along with Montevallo duo Taylor Lloyd (pitcher) and Taylor Rogers (freshman) were recognized following their performances during the week of March 23-29.
GSC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Olivia Watkins, OF, Jr., AUM
Watkins paced the Warhawk offense in last week’s series win over No. 15 West Florida. The junior hit .500 (4-for-8) with one RBI and three runs scored. She also slugged .625 and posted a .667 on-base percentage, while drawing three walks and one hit by pitch. In game two of the series, Watkins had a standout performance, going 4-for-4 with a double, one RBI and two runs scored.

GSC PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Taylor Lloyd, Sr., Montevallo
After going 3-0 last week, Lloyd was named GSC Pitcher of the Week for third time this season. The senior dominated the circle, posting a 0.00 ERA, while tossing 20 strikeouts in 21.0 innings of work. She conceded one run, unearned, on 11 hits, and registered a .151 opponent batting average against 77 total batters faced. Lloyd, who improved to a GSC-best 20-2 on the season, also finished the week with three complete games, including back-to-back shutouts against Lee. In her final performance of the week, Lloyd threw a season-high 11 strikeouts, helping the Falcons secure a series sweep.

GSC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Taylor Rogers, OF, Montevallo
Rogers had a solid week at the plate, hitting .500 (9-for-18), with four RBI, six runs scored while adding seven stolen bases, as Montevallo swept a midweek doubleheader at Columbus State before sweeping its three-game GSC series with Lee. Rogers had four multi-hit games, three multi-RBI performances, while finishing with a .778 slugging percentage. Following last week’s outing, the rookie is among Division II leaders in stolen bases (8th/30) and stolen base percentage (t-1st/1.000).
