Valdosta State's Eichelberger Named NFCA National Player of the Week

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Valdosta State's Chloe Eichelberger was named Division II Louisville Slugger/NFCA National Player of the Week, as  announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA), for her performances from February 16-22, during the 2026 season.

Eichelberger slashed .750/.778/2.000 keying the Blazers to a three-game sweep of Trevecca Nazarene in the Gulf South Conference’s opening weekend of league play. She was 6-for-8 at the plate with a double, three home runs, seven RBI and three runs scored. Eichelberger recorded the go-ahead two-run pinch-hit single in the seventh inning of the series opener. She homered twice in game two with three RBI and recorded three hits, a homer and two RBI in the series finale.

The native of Tampa, Fla., who was previously named Gulf South Conference Player of the Week, is the conference's second student-athlete this season to earn NFCA national weekly honors, joining Montevallo's Becca Benton was recognized last week. 

The national weekly awards are voted on by the NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll Committee, which features two member coaches from each of the NCAA's eight regions.
