BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The seventh set of 2026 Gulf South Conference Baseball Weekly Awards presented by Athletic Solutions were announced with Trevecca Nazarene's Cade Martin (player) and Ryan Sweeney (pitcher) as well as West Florida's Tucker Ricks (freshman) were recognized for their performances during the week of March 9-15.
GSC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Cade Martin, 1B, Jr., Trevecca
Martin produced runs in bunches last week, finishing with 10 RBI and six runs scored to help the Trojans go 5-0. The junior appeared in four games, hitting 4-for-15 (.267) at the plate, and slugged .867 with three home runs. He led Trevecca to a pair of wins at top-ranked North Greenville as he tallied five RBI and three runs scored. Martin belted two home runs in the two-game set and was a combined 3-for-8. The Trojans then swept Union in their GSC series, with Martin scoring three times and driving in five more runs while hitting 1-for-7 with a walk across two games.

GSC PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Ryan Sweeney, Jr., Trevecca
Sweeney was credited with three saves as Trevecca went 5-0 on the week. The junior, who now has seven saves on the year, posted a 0.00 ERA and threw 4.2 total innings with four strikeouts. Sweeney notched a .133 opponent batting average, surrendering just two hits in 15 batters faced with no walks. He picked up back-to-back saves at No. 1-ranked North Greenville as Trailblazer hitters went 1-for-10. Sweeney then secured the series sweep for the Trojans in game 3 at Union to move into sole control of first place in the GSC standings.

GSC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Tucker Ricks, RHP, West Florida
Ricks improved to 4-1 on the season, after the Argonauts run-ruled UAH, 12-2, in game two of the series. The right-hander struck out seven, allowed 10 hits, and was charged with one earned run, in the seven-inning complete-game performance. The rookie registered a 1.29 ERA, lowering his season average to 3.86.
