Four GSC Student-Athletes Represented on ABCA South Region All-Defensive Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The 2025 ABCA NCAA Division II Regional All-Defensive Teams were announced on Thursday, June 19, with four student-athletes from the Gulf South Conference being represented on the South Region team. Regional All-Defensive teams are voted on by the members of the American Baseball Coaches Association. 
 
 REGIONAL ALL-DEFENSIVE TEAMS ANNOUNCEMENT
 
All four representatives from the Gulf South Conference reigned from Mississippi College. Senior catcher Tyler Jacobsen, senior second baseman Blaise Breerwood, junior shortstop Logan Shurden, and senior outfielder JT Vance all made the cut. 
 
Jacobsen finished the 2025 campaign with 275 putouts, 33 assists, and a fielding percentage of .997. Meanwhile, Breerwood had 74 putouts, 105 assists, and a fielding percentage of .978. Shurden had 81 putouts, 158 assists, and a fielding percentage of .960. To round out the pack, Vance had 107 putouts, three assists, and a fielding percentage of .991. 
 
Players selected to Regional All-Defensive teams were also eligible for the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove honors that were announced on Wednesday, June 18.
