GAINESVILLE, Ga. – The third and final round of the NCAA Division II South Regional was played Wednesday with Lee and West Florida both concluding their seasons. West Florida’s Millie Thompson finished in the top-five for the tournament.
Lee rose to seventh after a strong close to the tournament that saw the Lady Flames shoot a 291 third round, their best round of the event. Lee compiled an overall team score of 894. Meanwhile, West Florida tied for eighth after carding a 297 final round, which was also the Argos’ best round of the event. Flagler won the South Regional with a finally tally of 871.
LEADERBOARD
Lee’s final day saw GSC Women’s Golfer of the Year Hannah Nall put together her best roiund of the tournament as she carded a 71 one-under par and three birdies to rise all the way to 33
rd with an overall score of 224 eight-over par. GSC Freshman of the Year Lehane Louis-Dumond also finished strong as she compiled a round of 72 even-par golf to finish 36
th at 226 ten-over par.
For West Florida, Thompson ended up tying for fifth place as she carded a closing round score of 75 three-over par to go with a birdie and had an overall score of 217 one-over par. Senior Alia Scotka also put together a stellar closing round, rising all the way to 18
th after carding a 72 even-par with two birdies. She had an overall score of 222 six-over par for the regional.
