GSC Softball Championship Day 3

OXFORD, Ala. — The 2025 Gulf South Conference Softball Championship continued Friday at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Ala., and saw top-seeded Auburn Montgomery advance to the title game while three more teams went home before inclement weather ended the day early.
 
CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL
 
The game between No. 2-seed West Florida and No. 4-seed Alabama Huntsville, originally scheduled for Friday, May 2, was postponed to Saturday, May 3 with first pitch set for 6 pm CT. The title game meanwhile has been pushed to Sunday, May 4. All remaining games will be streamed ive on FloCollege and fans planning to attend can purchase tickets at gscsports.org/sbchamp25
 
Mississippi College 3, Trevecca Nazarene 2
  • Mississippi College staved off elimination and sent home Trevecca Nazarene.
  • MC’s Megan Matheis accounted for the game-winning tally with a solo home run in the third. Brookelyn Cannon had a two-run single in the second to give the Lady Choctaws a 2-1 lead.
  • Brianna Asmondy accounted for the Trojans only runs as she homered in the first and fourth.
 
UAH 5, Montevallo 1
  • Montevallo was eliminated.
  • The Falcons only run was scored in the home half of the first thanks to Becca Benton triple.
  • The Chargers plated three in the second and never looked back as Maddie Cartron scored the initial UAH-run while Brittany Slaten pushed two across with a single to right. Sadie Thompson then scored in the fifth on a throwing before drawing a bases loaded hit by pitch in the sixth.
 
AUM 2, Mississippi College 1
  • Mississippi College was eliminated.
  • Jasmine Sneed had a walk-off single scoring Whitney Wells in the seventh. Haley Ann Frank scored AUM’s first run thanks in part to a MC throwing error. 
  • MC tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the sixth as a throwing error allowed Bella Myers to score.
