The Gulf South Conference announced its first weekly awards of the 2025 women’s outdoor track & field season for performances from Feb. 24-March 2.

Track Athlete of the Week:
Hilary Udechukwu, Sr., Mississippi College

Udechukwu opened the spring season in winning fashion taking the top step of the podium in the 200-meter race (25.44) and 400-meter hurdles (1:04.72). Her performance in the hurdles was a personal best.

Field Athlete of the Week:
Madison Flugence, So., Mississippi College

Flugence opened the outdoor season at the Mississippi College Spring Classic placing second in the long jump with a leap of 5.29 meters (17’ 4.25”).

Freshman of the Week:
Mercy Lomuria, West Alabame

Lomuria picked up a pair of second-place finishes as she start the spring campaign at the Mississippi College Spring Classic. The rookie clocked a time of 17:39.34 in the 5000 while running 4:51.39 in the 1500.
