2025 GSC Fall Tennis Invitational Winners Announced

MOBILE, Ala. – The 2025 GSC Fall Tennis Invitational took place October 31-November 2 in Mobile, Ala., and was hosted by West Alabama.

For the men's singles, the Flight 1 final was won by Lee's Filipe Krohn da Silva after defeating West Florida's Sebastian Rondon (6-4, 6-4). The Flight 2 title was captured in three sets by Vicente Couto of West Florida, who won against Francisco Guimaraes of Lee, 6-4, 3-6, 10-7. Roberto Leal (Lee) was crowned champion of the Flight 3 final after defeating Leo Lazarides (Montevallo), 6-4, 6-3.
 
In the Flight 4 championship match, Samuel Vidales of West Florida went against Simon Luigs of Montevallo, with Vidales coming out on top, 6-0, 6-4. West Florida's Lazaro Martins and West Alabama's Joan Mateu Ramis Pascual were featured in the Flight 5 final, and Martins won the match (6-4, 6-1).
 
On the women's side of singles, Guadalupe Martinez (West Florida) claimed the Flight 1 title after defeating Melissa Yakup Pour (AUM), 6-4, 6-1. For the Flight 2 final, Mississippi College's Anna Hudson won against Valdosta State's Castillo Hurtado, 6-1, 7-6 (9-7).
 
In the Flight 3 final match, Mariana Munoz of Mississippi College topped Charleigh Fay of Valdosta State (6-4, 6-3). West Florida's Rachel Ames battled back to win Flight 4 against Delta State's Angela Moreno, 0-6, 6-2 (10-3).
 
In the men's doubles, Quinn Groenendijk and Jip Langerhuizen of Lee won Flight 1 in dominating fashion against Federico Iturbe and Afonso Portugal of West Alabama, 6-1. West Alabama's duo, Gabriel Garay and Sebastiao Vilas, defeated West Florida's duo, Vicente Couto and Samuel Vidales, for the Flight 2 final match (6-4). The Flight 3 doubles winners, Lazaro Martins and John David Mccrory (West Florida), defeated Samuel Maia and Linus Sparding (Montevallo), 6-4.
 
For the women's doubles, West Alabama's Valentina Mutilba and Alexa Milliam defeated Mississippi College's Emily Buchanan and Ann Cabot Stockett in Flight 1, 6-3. For Flight 2, Anna Hudson and Molly Bennett (Mississippi College) won against Sophia Baillos and Latizia Bojara (Montevallo), 6-2.
 
All results from the invitational can be found, here. Teams will now transition into focusing on the spring season in hopes of capturing a title at the 2026 GSC Championships in April.
