The Gulf South Conference announced its weekly award for the 2023-24 men’s golf season following performances from February 1-6.
Golfer of the Week:
Eric Boutwell, Jr., Montevallo
Boutwell earned a top-five finish at the Matlock Collegiate Invitational, claiming a share of fourth, while leading Montevallo to a ninth-place finish in the team standings. During the three-round event, the junior carded scores of 72, 71, and 73 at Lone Palm Golf Club finishing with tournament score of even at 216. Boutwell pocketed 12 birdies in the outing, and was one of just six competitors to shoot even or better as he finished three strokes behind the tournament winner.

Freshman of the Week:
Adam Waller, Fr., Valdosta State
In his first collegiate tournament, Waller paced Valdosta State with a 15th-place in finish at the Matlock Collegiate. The rookie shot a 221 in the 54-hole event with rounds of 70, 72 and 79. He finished with 11 of the team's 34 birdies for the tournament helping Valdosta State to finish 11th in the 15-team field.
