BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Montevallo guards Brandon Fussell and Camden Andrews earned Gulf South Conference Men’s Basketball Weekly Awards presented by Truist after their performances during December 2-8 of the 2024-25 season. 

Player of the Week:
Brandon Fussell, So., G, Montevallo

Fussell won his second GSC Player of the Week award this season after compiling averages of 30.5 points, 2.5 steals, two assists, and 2.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week for Montevallo. To start, the sophomore was lights out offensively against Lee where he recorded 33 points on 73 percent shooting, including being five-of-seven from beyond the arc, and dished out two assists in a 75-60 win over Lee. He also had three steals and pulled down two boards. Then, in Montevallo’s 89-71 win over Trevecca Nazarene, Fussell had another efficient offensive showing where he dropped 28 points on 53 percent shooting and made 40 percent of his three-point attempts. His statline included two assists, two more steals, and three rebounds, as well.

Freshman of the Week:
Camden Andrews, R-Fr., G, Montevallo
 
Andrews secured his third GSC Fresman of the Week award this season after helping Montevallo to a 2-0 start in conference play with averages of 14.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and one steal. The redshirt-freshman got off to a solid start as he put up 10 points on 50 percent shooting while pulling down seven boards in a 75-60 win over Lee. He also grabbed a steal and dished out an assist in the win. Against Trevecca Nazarene, Andrews would build off of his first performance with a 19-point and four-assist showing while also having another steal and securing six more rebounds in the 89-71 win.
