Alabama Huntsville 69, West Georgia 71
For the time since 2016, West Georgia advanced to the GSC tournament title game. The Wolves shot 47.1 percent from the floor and converting 25-of-71 attempts, while pulling down 38 rebounds. The Chargers meanwhile shot 42.4 percent overall and collected 30 rebounds.
Luke Burnett led a UAH quartet of double-figure scorers as he registered a team-high 20 points. Max Shulman and Chaney Johnson followed with 13 apiece, while Jack Kostel had 12 points. Shulman and Kostel also had a team-high seven rebounds.
UWG was led by Michael Zabetakis who had a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Zawdie Jackson and Cole Fisher each finished with 17 points.
West Alabama 78, Lee 73
Despite being outshot .380 to .456, West Alabama advanced to the men’s tournament title game for the first time since 2015. The Tigers however narrowly controlled the rebounding battle with a 41-36 advantage.
Lee finished with three double-figure scorers with Beyuan Hendricks leading the way with 18 points along with nine boards. Michael McGuirk followed with 15 points, while Jayce Willingham chipped in with 12.
Kuran Garner had a game-high 20 points as he led a trio of West Alabama double-digit scorers. Justin Allison registered a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Shardarrion Allen tallied a 16-point performance.
