#GSCWTEN Players of the Week: March 9
The Gulf South Conference announced its Women's Tennis Player of the Week Awards for the 2021-22 season. This week's awards were for matches between Feb. 28-March 6.
Player of the Week: Haina Franco, West Alabama
Franco won three of her four matches this week with two singles wins and one doubles victory. Her first singles win came against West Florida's Irene Recuenco 6-2, 4-6, 6-2. She then topped Div. I opponent Marthe Degeorges 6-4, 6-1. She partnered with Katia de la Garza to take down UWF's Nathalia Mossambani and Guiliana Sacco 6-3.

Freshman of the Week: Adriana Barrio, Valdosta State
Barrio helped Valdosta State to a 2-1 record with three singles wins. She defeated Shorter's Emma Gallman 6-0, 6-0 before taking a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Lee's Hayden Smith. She scored the only point in the Lady Blazers' 6-1 loss to top-ranked Barry. He 6-3, 7-5 win over Clara Versier was just the fourth team point scored against Barry all season.
