#GSCWTEN Players of the Week: Feb. 16
The Gulf South Conference announced its Women's Tennis Player of the Week Awards for the 2021-22 season. This week's awards were for matches between Feb. 7-13.
Player of the Week: Katia De La Garza - West Alabama
De La Garza finished the with a 4-0 record in both singles and doubles. The No. 24 ranked graduate student went 2-0 against Columbus State with a win against No. 25 Mariana Rameriz in singles (6-2, 6-4). She then paired with Haina Franco to defeat Ramirez and Valentina Abrile in doubles (7-5). De La Garza also went 2-0 against Mississippi College with a singles win over Emma Roberts (6-1, 6-1) and a doubles win with Franco over Choctaw duo Ely Alas and Fernanda Cota (6-3).

Freshman of the Week: Estefania Garcia - Auburn Montgomery
Garcia won six of her seven matches over Auburn Montgomery's two matches last week. The freshman took singles win against Spring Hill's Mary Grace Sullivan (6-1, 6-1), No. 7 Columbus State's Neila Trkjla (6-2, 6-4), Tuskegee's Dakyoung Heo (6-0, 6-0), and No. 6 Flagler's Eden Schlagenhauf (6-2, 6-2). She paired with Sofia Navarro for a 3-1 with wins against Spring Hill (6-0), and Flagler (6-3).
